Fish Sucker

Hair

I've been trying to figure out how to "do" Athelie's hair. I am completely clueless since I don't have curly hair. Her hair is really fine with the exception of a coarse patch on the back of her head. She has super tight little curls that show up when her hair is wet. But when it's dry, most of the time it is just a fuzz ball.

Compare: It's hard to see her curls in this pixture because they are so tight, but at least it is not fuzzy for once.

I actually tried to do her hair, but she ended up looking like a mad scientist with her hair sticking up all of the place.

9 Month Birthday

Athelie turned 9 month's old over the weekend! So of course, I had to take her happy birthday picture. Here's the updated collage.

8th Month Recap

For those of you catching up with us...Athelie was busy busy during her 8th month. She started crawling and getting into everything here and here! She tried her first mango and loved it! She also has loved trying all different foods, yum and yum, and more yum! One of her front teeth also came in this month, which she had to check out.  And of course we had to have a few photo sessions - here and here. And I also celebrated my "first" official Mother's Day. Whew! That was a lot! I hope you enjoy catching up with us.
  A few pic's I haven't posted yet from Athelie's 8th month...

The Curl

This is an old picture, but I came across it the other day and that curl just made me laugh! Do you see it? The Curl.

Did you notice the turtle?

Walking!

Athelie loves to walk around using this little walker. She goes all over the downstairs as long as she doesn't get stuck, which usually happens.

Eating a Turtle

Before Athelie was born, I bought these little finger fish puppets and put them in a little vase on the side table by "our" chair in her room. Little did I know, these would become her favorite thing to play with. She loves to take each one out, the starfish, the crab, the octopus, the clown fish, the turtle, the seahorse, and put it on the floor. She does this every day. However, she has a favorite that she like to bite and suck on. Chew. I don't know what she does with it - but it goes in her mouth constantly.

Can you guess which one it is?

Mother's Day Weekend

Our good friends, Misti, Shea and their daughter who is 1 month older than Athelie, Ella, came to visit us over Mother's Day weekend. Since this was both mine and Misti's first "official" Mother's Day, it was a great way to celebrate with friends.

Saturday morning we went to the Farmer's Market downtown and then to Artisphere and then to brunch at a wonderful little place over looking Fall's Park.

It was so fun to watch the girls play together and interact.

All worn out!

A couple of pic's of me and Taylee.

A cute little pink tongue

Athelie just discovered that she can stick out her tongue today. And it is the cutest little pink tongue I have ever seen! I think she might be feeling her newly cut tooth. Either way - it is really fun to watch her crawl around sticking out her tongue and playing with her new tooth.

Here's a video. She was attacking the camera and me the whole time so it is not very good - at the very end of the video she is trying to lick the camera. Ha!

mmmmmm - yummy

Athelie's top tooth has been trying to come in all week. In an effort to help to teeth, I gave her a frozen bagel to chew on. She really enjoyed it and ended up eating a large portion of the bagel. Plus, I think it helped her - because her tooth finally broke the surface today!

Playtime

Now that Athelie is crawling around. She is getting into everything!. And everything is going into her mouth! She is discovering all the things she can do and all the places she can go. She just started playing peek-a-boo with me. It is really cute. She will hold a shirt, blanket, etc. over her face and then pull it down and wait for me to say "peek-a-boo" - it is so cute to see her playing games with me.

Playing in the Pantry
trying to get a toy out of her toy box - "maybe if I stand on one leg I can get it"

Really cute video of her playing first thing in the morning.
