Hilton Head part II

Remember this flashback to...
2012

and this year - 2013

And now for Minnie and Daisy's adventures in Hilton Head...

Taylee got Minnie & Daisy for her birthday and they came with us everywhere while on vacation. Marc and I decided to have a little fun with them capturing all the places they went. Ha! Hope you enjoyed the adventure!

And now our favorite places to eat...

  • Maggie Moo's Ice Cream parlor in Coligny Plaza
  • Kenny B's French Quarter Cafe - they have the most amazing seafood gumbo I've ever eaten and I've eaten a lot! It's so good. I order it every time. The girls eat the red beans and rice there. And Marc likes either the jambalaya or Shrimp Étouffée.
  • The Jazz Corner - Marc and I always make sure we have a date night here when we are in HHI. It is one of the coolest venues to listen to live music plus eat an amazing leisurely meal.
  • NYC Pizza - yep. It's become a tradition to hit a local pizza place on our way out of town. This one in particular was delicious. We've also tried Giuseppi's which has great pizza too.

2013 Beach Vacation

We spent the last week of August at Hilton Head Island - one of my all time favorite places I've ever visited. I am determined to retire there one day. I'm not the only one that thinks it's a great place too - Parent Magazine named it the #1 Best Beach Town in America. Woot. "With few streetlights (so you can easily see the stars!) and rules prohibiting neon signs and buildings over five stories tall, Hilton Head has retained its Southern charm." I totally agree.

We stayed at a resort in a two bedroom apartment with a kitchen. Once we got there we didn't have to leave unless we wanted to. Our stretch of the beach was nice and quiet. Perfect for relaxing and enjoying the sun, sand, and surf.

Beautiful Sunrise

Sand Dunes

Palmetto Trees - the state tree

We had a lot of 1st's during this trip.

The girls played Corn.

They attempted putt-putt golf.

We went to a cookout one night and the girls got to perform on stage.

Here's the link in case it doesn't work.

One day we went to Lawton Stables and the girls got to ride a pony.

(Stas held my hand the whole way.)

They got to pet goats.

And horses!

And Taylee was even brave enough to feed them.

And they got to pet a deer!

There were lots of other animals too like rabbits, a ram, and chickens.

I was there too. ;-)

We also road a trolly around part of the island which was a fun way to experience the island.

Ms. Independant

Taylee road an ALLIGATOR!

They got to ride on a tire swing for the first time.

Whew! That was a lot of firsts. Great memories and adventures were had.

Back at the beach we had one more first...we flew a kite! It was so much fun!

The girls really enjoyed the pool.

Taylee was very brave and enjoyed jumping in the water going all the way under getting her face and hair wet.

And then she took off her puddlejumper and jumped in to me and swam under water. I was totally impressed. Next year she will be swimming for sure.

Walking with my girls on the beach.

And of course we had to cool off with some ice cream. (P.S. I love that Stasiya chose mint chocolate chip as her flavor - that was my favorite when I was a little girl).

And now...for a little photoshoot.

Bye Bye Beach - you've been fun.

We'll see you next year.

Stayed tuned for Minnie and Daisy's adventures at the beach.

And our favorite places to eat in Hilton Head.

And a fun little flashback.
